Your doctor should be informed if you are pregnant and have gonorrhea as there are some antibiotics that cannot be taken during pregnancy.

You can reduce the risk of infecting or being infected by gonorrhea by the use of latex condoms. You can avoid sex or have a monogamous relationship in order to prevent gonorrhea.
